We are delighted to have negotiated preferential rates on family health insurance:

Affordable peace of mind for you and your family

BUPA EmployeeChoice and BUPA EmployeeChoice Essential private health cover schemes are now available to all Sonographers Medical staff and their families. Both schemes offer:

  •  Peace of mind in having access to consultants and private medical treatment when needed, in a BUPA Partnership Network Hospital**

  •  Cover for eligible diagnostic tests, physiotherapy and heart conditions

  •  All eligible outpatient consultations, treatment and therapies for cancer are fully covered

  •  The ability to reduce premiums further still by selecting an excess of £250

  •  An initial no claims discount when you join plus further discounts on subsequent years’ premiums if you don’t make a claim††

We know that heart disease and cancer are the conditions which many people worry about the most. So unlike some other 'low cost' plans, you will be pleased to know that cover is provided for eligible heart and cancer treatment in both schemes.

What's the difference between the two schemes?

BUPA EmployeeChoice provides cover for eligible diagnostic tests, hospital in-patient and day-patient treatment, as well as cover for out-patient consultations and therapies, including up to £250 towards complementary treatments.

BUPA EmployeeChoice Essential is the same as BUPA EmployeeChoice except out-patient consultations and therapies are only covered if they are immediately related to and following eligible private in-patient or day-patient treatment. Complementary medicine is also excluded.

The no claims discount may not be combined with any other discounts for which you may be eligible. BUPA reserves the right to alter or withdraw the discount on or after your first renewal date and the right to vary subscriptions during a contract year if the rate of insurance premium tax changes.
